How to Choose Kids Sizes, Sweatshirts & Hoodies
Found a design you love? On eligible T-shirt product pages, you can choose a kids size or upgrade to an adult sweatshirt or hoodie, all from the same page.
Each option changes the garment you receive. It does not add a second shirt.
How to order a kids T-shirt
- Open the T-shirt design you want and choose your color.
- Open “Change your Shirt Type ?” below the main size buttons. This section may also be labeled “Upgrade your tee.”
- Select “Switch to Kids Size.”
- Choose your kids size from the dropdown: XS (4), S (6–8), M (10–12), L (14–16), or XL (18–20).
- Check the selected kids size, color, price, and quantity, then click Add to cart.
The kids size you choose in this section is the size you will receive. The adult size still shown in the main size buttons does not determine the kids garment size.
Kids sizing has no additional charge. The price remains the price of the selected T-shirt variant, which can vary with the main size selection. Check the displayed total before adding to cart. The kids shirt keeps your selected T-shirt color and design.
How to upgrade to a sweatshirt or hoodie
- Open your chosen T-shirt design.
- Open “Change your Shirt Type ?” or “Upgrade your tee.”
- Select “Upgrade to Sweatshirt” or “Upgrade to Hoodie.”
- Choose the color and size inside that option. Check these selections even if they were filled in automatically.
- Review the additional charge and displayed total, choose your quantity, and add to cart.
The total is the selected T-shirt price plus the upgrade charge, before applicable discounts, shipping, and taxes. Available colors, sizes, and charges are shown on the product page.
You receive the selected sweatshirt or hoodie with your chosen design instead of a T-shirt. The kids option is for a kids T-shirt; it cannot be combined with a sweatshirt or hoodie upgrade.
Front print or back print?
Start with the product page for the print placement you want. For a back print, choose the design’s Back Print product page before selecting a garment option.
Upgrade thumbnails illustrate the garment style. Your order uses the design selected on the original product page, not the sample words or artwork in the upgrade thumbnail. If a back-view preview is unavailable, a front-view thumbnail may appear.
Why does my cart show two items?
A shirt with a kids-size selection or garment upgrade appears as two linked cart lines:
- The original T-shirt line identifies your chosen design and its base price.
- The linked option line identifies the garment you will receive, its selected size and color, and any additional charge. The kids-size option is $0.00.
When both linked lines show Quantity: 1, you receive one garment, not two. A cart counter reading “2 items” can count these two lines even though they represent one finished shirt.
Before checkout, check the linked option’s size, color, quantity, and design. To change an upgrade or its quantity after adding it, remove the linked group using the original shirt’s remove button, then choose again on the product page.
Buying an adult shirt and a kids shirt together
- Choose the adult T-shirt’s color, size, and quantity. Leave the garment options unchecked, then add to cart.
- Return to the design, choose the kids shirt’s color, select “Switch to Kids Size,” choose a kids size and quantity, then add to cart again.
For one adult T-shirt and one kids T-shirt, the cart can show three lines: the adult shirt, the kids shirt’s original design line, and its linked $0 kids-size option. That represents two finished shirts.
Ordering several shirts or different garment styles
You can mix adult T-shirts, kids T-shirts, sweatshirts, and hoodies in one order. Choose one garment style each time you add to cart, then repeat for your next selection. Adding another selection keeps the items already in your cart.
- Several identical shirts: choose the design, print placement, garment style, color, and size, then set Quantity before adding to cart. For example, kids size M with Quantity 3 means three kids T-shirts. Both linked cart lines will show Quantity 3; that does not mean six shirts.
- Different sizes, colors, designs, or garment styles: add each combination separately. For two kids shirts in different sizes, select the first size with Quantity 1 and add it, then select the second size with Quantity 1 and add again.
- Returning to a regular adult T-shirt: uncheck the selected kids, sweatshirt, or hoodie option, choose the adult color and size, and add to cart.
Check Quantity before every addition, especially after ordering more than one of the previous selection.
Example: four shirts in one order
- Add one adult T-shirt with no garment option selected, Quantity 1.
- Select Kids, choose the kids size and color, and add Quantity 2.
- Select Hoodie, choose its size and color, reset Quantity to 1, and add to cart.
You receive four garments: one adult T-shirt, two kids T-shirts, and one hoodie. The two kids shirts in this example share the same design, color, and size.
In the cart, linked design and garment-option lines share a background color and a Linked group number. Match the group numbers to see which lines belong together. For each linked group, count the quantity once, then add the quantities of any regular T-shirts. The cart’s item counter may also count the linked option lines.
To change a linked group’s size, style, or quantity, remove it using the original design line’s remove button and add the desired selection again. Review all groups before checking out together.
Kids T-shirt size chart
Measurements are in inches, taken with the garment laid flat. Chest width is measured from armpit to armpit, not around the body. Body length is measured from the highest point of the shoulder to the hem.
| Kids size | US numeric size | Chest width | Body length |
|---|---|---|---|
| XS | 4 | 16" | 20 1/2" |
| S | 6–8 | 17" | 22" |
| M | 10–12 | 18" | 23 1/2" |
| L | 14–16 | 19" | 25" |
| XL | 18–20 | 20" | 26 1/2" |
Kids measurements may vary by up to 1 inch. Compare the chart with a shirt that already fits your child, measuring both width and length. Kids and adult letter sizes are different: a kids XL is not the same as an adult XL.
Adult T-shirt size chart
Measurements are in inches with the garment laid flat. Compare both chest width and body length with a T-shirt that fits you.
| Size | Chest width | Body length |
|---|---|---|
| S | 18" | 28" |
| M | 20" | 29" |
| L | 22" | 30" |
| XL | 24" | 31" |
| 2XL | 26" | 32" |
| 3XL | 28" | 33" |
| 4XL | 30" | 34" |
| 5XL | 32" | 35" |
Adult T-shirt measurements may vary by up to 0.5 inch.
Adult sweatshirt & hoodie size chart
The sweatshirt and hoodie upgrade options use the same measurements below. Measurements are in inches: chest width is measured across the garment laid flat, body length from the highest point of the shoulder to the hem, and sleeve length from the center back.
| Size | Chest width (laid flat) |
Body length | Sleeve length (from center back) |
|---|---|---|---|
| XS | 18" | 26" | 32 1/2" |
| S | 20" | 27" | 33 1/2" |
| M | 22" | 28" | 34 1/2" |
| L | 24" | 29" | 35 1/2" |
| XL | 26" | 30" | 36 1/2" |
| 2XL | 28" | 31" | 37 1/2" |
| 3XL | 30" | 32" | 38 1/2" |
| 4XL | 32" | 33" | 39 1/2" |
| 5XL | 34" | 34" | 40 1/2" |
Sweatshirt and hoodie measurements may each vary by up to 1 inch. Chest width is not chest circumference. Compare with a similar garment that fits you, rather than choosing by the size letter alone.
These charts are for the T-shirts and garment upgrades described on this page. Not every size is available in every style or color; check the selectable options and Sizing chart on your product page before ordering.
